The global beauty ecosystem is small, and contract manufacturers play a critical role. They provide crucial structure early in the growth cycle for independent brands and become value-added innovation partners. For larger brands, contract developers and manufacturers can serve as strategic partners, providing innovation and stability amid an ever-changing beauty industry.

Contract manufacturers come in lots of forms, shapes, and sizes. Some specialize in color products, some in skincare, and some in other areas or multiple product categories. Brands want and need to feel like their partner is an extension of their team.

A partner that can drive innovation and has the scale and supplier leverage to make it is critical to getting a product from concept to the retailer's shelf and enabling frictionless growth for a brand.

The judges, listed below, have chosen the 2026  finalists.

  • Karen Young, CEO, The Young Group
  • Tamar Kamen, Consultant
  • Akemi Ooka, CEO, Independent Beauty Association (IBA)
